The Story:
Drop camps are preset camps owned by the outfitter. This is an alternative to the outdoors people that want to get into the wilderness without the hassle and cost of bringing in your own horses and camps. Instead the outfitter takes you in with your gear and drops you at their camp. Most camps are set up with a cook tent and additional sleeping tents. Once there, the outfitter leaves you with your food and personal items. A a predetermined time the outfitter will come back in to load up your gear and take you out. I’ve spent many a day leading empty packs and saddle horses into the wilderness to pick up campers, fishermen or hunters.
